About the Artist

Ryan Dobler is an American artist, living in the Greater Kruger region of South Africa.  He studied at the University of Idaho in the United States, his coursework included graphic design, photography, and visual communication. Dobler graduated with a Master of Science degree in 2007. Since school, he has explored artistic expression through painting. His work includes abstracts, landscapes, and floral scenery, and his distinct style evokes a sense of emotion and fluidity.

Dobler uses a variety of mediums, painting in oils and acrylics. He uses texture and color to re-envision the commonplace and present a novel viewpoint. A pertinent characteristic of his style is to take an ordinary subject, such as a horizon or a forest, and reveal its underlying complexity.
